Re: getting to the pier from Santiago. Hi! If the easiest way is a little pricy, you could take the airport transfer bus (the big blue bus) from the terminal building to Pajaritos Metro station. There you can catch a bus to Valparaiso bus station and from there a local taxi to the harbour.

We thought we would book the next two nights while in Chile depending on how far we travelled south, as our last 4 nights are already reserved at a timeshare north of Valparaiso.
